studied piano (under Jean Lloyd-Webber in London) and classical guitar
as a child. His classical studies were soon complemented by a strong
interest in rock, electronic and ambient music: while in Florence,
Giovanni formed several alternative rock bands performing as vocalist
and lead guitarist. His classical roots and eclectic influences have
reemerged in his more recent works which include several projects for
film, theatre and television, and music for several orchestral and chamber ensembles. Giovanni recently performed and conducted his original score for the D.W. Griffith classic silent film "True Heart Susie" on the opening night of the International Silent Film Festival of Pordenone, Italy, XXV Edition. His work for string quartet "Jasna Góra" was premiered in the United States by the Chamber Dance Quartet during Chamber Dance Project's Fall Season, Nov. 2-5, 2006.
